Position Overview
The Computer Science Teacher for Pre-Primary is responsible for introducing young learners (ages 3–6) to foundational digital literacy and computational thinking through play-based, inquiry-driven learning. The teacher integrates technology meaningfully into the curriculum while supporting the holistic development of children in a safe, engaging, and internationally minded learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Introduce age-appropriate computer concepts such as basic hardware, mouse/keyboard use, touch devices, and simple digital tools
Teach foundational computational thinking skills (sequencing, patterns, logic) through games, stories, and hands-on activities
Use child-friendly applications, educational software, robotics toys, and coding platforms suitable for early years
Integrate technology with classroom themes and interdisciplinary units
Foster creativity, curiosity, and responsible digital behavior
Plan and deliver lessons aligned with early years frameworks
Prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans, learning resources, and assessments
Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and learning styles
Collaborate with class teachers to support technology integration
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Ensure responsible and supervised use of technology
Promote digital citizenship and basic online safety concepts
Observe and document student progress through informal assessments and portfolios
Provide constructive feedback to students and parents
Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events
Coordinate with heads of the departments for events and provide support with capturing event highlights.
Store and maintain the common drive.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field
Early Childhood Education certification or training preferred
Experience
Minimum 1–3 years of experience teaching young children (Pre-Primary / Early Years preferred)
Experience in an international school setting is an advantage
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning
Ability to simplify technological concepts for young learners
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Creative, patient, and enthusiastic teaching approach
Comfortable using interactive boards, tablets, and educational apps
