Roles Responsibility
- Component Verification: Inspects batteries, motherboards, LCD panels, keyboards, and memory for physical damage and correct specifications.
- Supplier Audits: Evaluates third-party parts to ensure they meet the manufacturer's engineering blueprints and tolerance levels.
- Quality Assurance: Rejects substandard components to prevent them from entering the production line
- Workstation Audits: Ensures assembly line workers follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Checks: Verifies that grounding and anti-static measures are active to prevent damage to sensitive microchips.
- Partial Functionality Tests: Conducts basic power-on self-tests (POST) at various checkpoints along the line.
- Hardware & I/O Testing: Tests every port, keyboard key, touchpad, webcam, and fingerprint scanner.
- Display & Audio Testing: Checks for screen uniformity, dead pixels, color accuracy, and speaker sound quality.
- Software & OS Verification: Confirms the installed OS, drivers, and firmware match client or internal specifications.
- Reliability & Stress Testing (Burn-in): Runs the system under heavy load to check for overheating, battery life, and overall stability
- Drop & Vibration Tests: Simulates shipping and handling stresses.
- Hinge & Port Fatigue Tests: Rapidly opens and closes the lid and repeatedly plugs/unplugs USB cables to test wear-and-tear.
- Electrical Safety: Conducts Hi-Pot testing on the power adapters
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigates the underlying causes of defects found during testing.
- Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA): Implements solutions to prevent defects from recurring in future production batches.
- Compliance Management: Ensures the laptops meet regulatory and environmental certifications (e.g., CE, FCC, RoHS).
- Calibration: Tracks and enforces the regular calibration of testing equipment and measurement tools
