Role and Responsibilities
Candidates will be considered for one of the following tracks based on their education, skills and project experience.
Front-End Design:
* Translate specifications into synthesizable RTL.
* Develop FSMs, datapaths, pipelines, control logic and digital interfaces.
* Support microarchitecture, lint, CDC, synthesis and basic timing analysis.
* Debug RTL using simulations, logs and waveform-analysis tools.
* Collaborate with architecture, verification and physical-design teams.
Analog/Custom Design:
* Translate circuit specifications into transistor-level designs.
* Select topologies and perform hand calculations and device sizing.
* Simulate analog, mixed-signal, RF or memory-related circuit blocks.
* Analyse gain, bandwidth, stability, power, noise, matching and linearity.
* Perform PVT, mismatch and Monte Carlo verification.
Physical/Back-End Design
* Support floorplanning, power planning, placement, CTS and routing.
* Analyse congestion and optimise power, performance and area.
* Identify and resolve setup and hold timing violations.
* Support physical verification and implementation sign-off.
* Collaborate with RTL, STA, DFT and sign-off teams through tapeout.
Qualifications:
Must have:
* B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, VLSI, Microelectronics or a related discipline.
* Strong fundamentals in at least one area:
* Digital and RTL design
* Analog, mixed-signal, RF or memory design
* Physical design and timing analysis
* Ability to explain at least one academic, personal, internship or industry project in depth.
* Understanding of design decisions, simulations, trade-offs and debugging methods.
* Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Digital: Verilog, SystemVerilog, RTL Design, FSMs, Pipelining, CDC, Synthesis, Timing Fundamentals, Microarchitecture, ASIC and SoC Design
Analog: CMOS Design, MOSFET Fundamentals, Small-Signal Analysis, Feedback, Stability, Noise, Matching, PVT and Monte Carlo Analysis
Physical: Floorplanning, Placement, CTS, Routing, STA, Timing Closure, Congestion Analysis, Power Planning and Physical Verification
Tools: Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, Design Compiler, Genus, VCS, Questa, Xcelium, Innovus, ICC2, PrimeTime or equivalent tools
