Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Manager to oversee and optimize inventory operations for our publishing house. The Inventory Manager will be responsible for managing book stock levels, coordinating with printing vendors, monitoring warehouse inventory, ensuring timely distribution, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in inventory management, and the ability to work collaboratively across editorial, production, sales, and distribution teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records for books, journals, magazines, and other published materials.
- Monitor stock levels and forecast inventory requirements based on sales trends, publication schedules, and market demand.
- Coordinate with production, printing vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of inventory.
- Oversee receiving, storage, and dispatch of inventory from warehouses and distribution centers.
- Conduct regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and stock reconciliations.
- Analyze inventory performance metrics and prepare reports for management.
- Minimize excess inventory, stock obsolescence, and inventory-related costs.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to plan inventory for new releases, promotions, and seasonal demand.
- Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and company policies.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, damaged stock issues, and fulfillment challenges.
- Maintain inventory management systems and recommend process improvements.
- Coordinate returns processing and disposal or redistribution of unsold inventory where applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain roles.
- Experience in publishing, printing, book distribution, or media industries is preferred.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
