Job Description – Electrical Quality Engineer
Position: Electrical Quality Engineer
Department: Quality / Electrical
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 2–5 Years
Location: Ahmedabad / Project Sites
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify electrical materials, equipment, and installation work as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections and testing of electrical systems, panels, cables, transformers, earthing, lighting, and related equipment.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable electrical codes.
- Review drawings, BOQs, specifications, and method statements for quality requirements.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, test reports, NCRs, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients for quality inspections and approvals.
- Identify quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor workmanship and ensure proper installation practices at project sites.
- Conduct material inspection and verify test certificates and quality documents.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintain project quality records.
· Prepare and maintain HOTO (Handing Over & Taking Over) documentation for completed electrical works.
· Coordinate with site, project, and client teams for smooth project handover.
· Verify that all electrical installations, testing, commissioning, and quality requirements are completed before handover.
· Ensure submission of as-built drawings, test reports, inspection reports, O&M manuals, warranties, and other handover documents.
· Conduct joint inspections with the client/consultant and close all pending observations and punch points.
· Maintain proper records of HOTO documents and obtain necessary approvals/sign-offs.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of electrical systems, testing, and installation.
- Knowledge of electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with IS/IEC standards and electrical safety requirements.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic documentation.
- Ability to work independently and at project sites.
Preferred
- Experience in Electrical EPC / MEP / Industrial Projects.
- Knowledge of QA/QC documentation and NCR/CAPA procedures.
- Experience in handling client/consultant inspections.
