Job Title: Audit Assistant

Job Summary:
The Audit Assistant will assist in conducting statutory audits, tax audits, GST-related work, accounting, and other assurance assignments. The role involves maintaining audit working papers, verifying financial records, preparing schedules, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Statutory Audit, Tax Audit, and Internal Audit assignments.
- Verify vouchers, invoices, bank statements, ledgers, and supporting documents.
- Perform ledger scrutiny and reconciliation of accounts.
- Assist in preparation and review of financial statements.
- Assist with GST returns, GST reconciliation, and GST compliance.
- Assist in Income Tax return preparation and tax-related compliance.
- Prepare audit working papers, schedules, confirmations, and documentation.
- Perform Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) and other account reconciliations.
- Identify discrepancies and bring them to the attention of the senior/audit manager.
- Assist in TDS compliance and reconciliation.
- Maintain proper records of client documents and audit evidence.
- Coordinate with clients to obtain required information and supporting documents.
- Ensure assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines.
- Assist seniors in preparing audit reports and management reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of client financial and business information.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of Accounting, GST, Income Tax, and Auditing.
- Good knowledge of Tally / accounting software.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Ability to perform reconciliations and analyse financial transactions.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Willingness to travel to client locations when required.
Qualification
Preferred: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter / equivalent qualification.
Experience: 0–3 years in audit/accounting/taxation. Freshers with relevant knowledge may also be considered.
