About the Role
Interiority, Coherence Works, and Coherence Wellbeing are looking for an energetic, responsible Business Development Manager to develop business opportunities across the hospitality, healthcare, wellness, and related institutional sectors.
The role will involve identifying and approaching five-star hotels, spas, resorts, hospitals, hospitality-focused builders, developers, interior designers and allied organisations. The candidate will present product and design catalogues, build professional relationships with housekeeping managers and procurement officers, generate enquiries, coordinate custom requirements and manage the complete journey from business development and order booking to vendor coordination, delivery and client follow-up.
This is a hands-on role suited to an early-career professional who is a confident communicator, comfortable working from the office, willing to travel and eager to take ownership of both business growth and operational processes. Hospitality procurement commonly involves supplier evaluation, negotiation, coordination across departments and follow-through from purchase requirement to delivery, all of which are important elements of this position.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Sales
Identify and develop new business opportunities in:
- Five-star hotels and premium hospitality properties.
- Spas, resorts and wellness centres.
- Hospitals and healthcare institutions.
- Hospitality-focused builders, developers and project consultants.
- Hotel lobbies, builders’ lobbies and other high-visibility hospitality spaces.
- Architects, interior designers, project managers and procurement consultants.
- Research target organisations, upcoming projects, renovations, openings and procurement requirements.
- Build and maintain a structured database of hotels, hospitals, resorts, spas, builders, developers and relevant decision-makers.
- Establish contact with housekeeping managers, procurement officers, purchase managers, general managers, facility managers, project heads and other relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct regular outreach through meetings, telephone calls, email, LinkedIn and professional networking.
- Present company offerings, product catalogues, design concepts and customised solutions to prospective clients.
- Understand client requirements and convert them into suitable product, design or procurement opportunities.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, presentations, product information and follow-up communication.
- Generate leads, qualify prospects, arrange meetings and support the conversion of enquiries into confirmed business.
- Maintain regular follow-up with prospective and existing clients until closure.
- Develop long-term, professional relationships with clients, vendors, consultants and industry partners.
- Meet agreed business development, enquiry generation, conversion and revenue targets.
Market Research and Business Intelligence
- Conduct ongoing research on hospitality, wellness, healthcare and institutional markets.
- Track new hotel launches, hotel renovations, resort developments, hospital projects and hospitality-related construction activity.
- Study competitor offerings, market pricing, product trends and customer preferences.
- Identify gaps in the market and suggest new products, services, catalogue additions and business opportunities.
- Prepare periodic reports on leads, market developments, competitor activity and potential accounts.
- Share relevant market insights with the leadership, design, procurement and operations teams.
Exhibitions and Business Events
- Identify suitable trade fairs, hospitality exhibitions, design events, procurement forums and networking platforms.
- Support the planning, booking and management of exhibitions and business events.
- Coordinate exhibition registrations, stall requirements, catalogues, samples, displays, logistics and vendor arrangements.
- Assist in preparing product presentations, brochures, pitch material and event-specific communication.
- Meet potential clients and business partners during exhibitions and ensure timely post-event follow-up.
- Maintain a record of event leads, meetings, enquiries and conversion outcomes.
Vendor and Production Coordination
- Identify, communicate with and coordinate different vendors for product development, customisation and production.
- Obtain quotations, compare rates, discuss timelines and negotiate commercial terms.
- Share accurate product specifications, quantities, designs, measurements and delivery requirements with vendors.
- Follow up with vendors regarding samples, prototypes, production, quality, packaging and dispatch.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that the client’s requirements are correctly understood and executed.
- Monitor timelines and escalate delays, quality concerns or cost variations promptly.
- Maintain updated vendor records, quotations, product details and production status.
- Assist in developing reliable vendor relationships and a cost-effective supply network.
E-commerce and Order Management
- Learn and actively support the launch of the company’s e-commerce business and product catalogue.
- Assist with product listing, descriptions, images, pricing, categorisation and basic digital merchandising.
- Learn the relevant e-commerce, CRM, inventory, order management and communication tools.
- Take responsibility for processing orders accurately from confirmation through delivery.
- Coordinate order details with clients, vendors, logistics partners, finance and internal teams.
- Track stock availability, purchase requirements, production status, dispatch and delivery.
- Maintain order records and ensure that customer updates are shared on time.
- Follow up on payments, invoices, delivery confirmations, returns, replacements and after-sales issues.
- Help improve internal processes, checklists and systems for enquiry-to-order and order-to-delivery management.
- Support the leadership team in building a scalable and organised business process.
Ongoing Work and Team Support
- Support ongoing client projects, business activities and operational requirements.
- Coordinate between clients, vendors, designers, production teams and management.
- Assist with product sourcing, catalogue preparation, documentation and presentation development.
- Ensure that commitments made to clients are properly recorded, communicated and followed through.
- Prepare daily or weekly updates on meetings, leads, orders, vendor status and pending actions.
- Handle confidential business and client information professionally.
- Take ownership of both small-value and high-value responsibilities with equal sincerity and discipline.
- Perform other reasonable duties required for the growth and smooth functioning of the business.
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate degree in business administration (BBA), sales, marketing, hospitality, interior design, retail, commerce or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales, hospitality, procurement coordination, retail, interior products, design, e-commerce or a related area.
- Candidates with experience dealing with hotels, hospitals, spas, resorts, builders, architects, designers or institutional clients will be preferred.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Comfortable working from the office at Connaught Place, New Delhi.
- Willingness to travel locally and outside Delhi for meetings, exhibitions, research and business development.
- Proficiency in email, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, presentations and online research.
- Willingness and ability to learn e-commerce platforms, CRM systems, order management tools and other business technologies.
