Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Factory Head to oversee the overall operations of a manufacturing unit engaged in handmade paper products, paper lighting, and home décor products for export markets.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in production management, purchase coordination, factory supervision, manpower management, inventory control, quality, and timely order execution. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day factory operations and achieving production and delivery targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall day-to-day operations of the factory.
- Plan, manage, and monitor production activities as per order requirements.
- Supervise production teams, supervisors, workers, and other factory staff.
- Manage manpower allocation and ensure optimum workforce utilisation.
- Coordinate and monitor purchase of raw materials, consumables, and other production requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and purchase teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Monitor raw material, work-in-progress, finished goods, and inventory levels.
- Ensure production schedules and customer orders are completed on time.
- Coordinate with production, purchase, quality, warehouse, and dispatch teams.
- Monitor product quality and minimise rejection, wastage, and production losses.
- Identify operational issues and take timely corrective actions.
- Maintain production, purchase, inventory, and factory performance reports.
- Ensure proper utilisation of machinery, materials, manpower, and other resources.
- Monitor factory housekeeping, discipline, and compliance with company procedures.
- Work closely with management to achieve production, cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Drive process improvements to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
Required Experience
- 8–15 years of relevant experience in factory/production management.
- Strong experience in manufacturing operations and factory supervision.
- Experience in handmade paper products, paper lighting, home décor, handicrafts, or similar industries is highly preferred.
- Experience handling production as well as purchase/procurement activities.
- Experience managing a sizeable production workforce.
- Experience in export-oriented manufacturing will be an added advantage.
