Senior Accounts Head – Retail & Garments, Location: Goa

We are seeking a highly skilled and autonomous Senior Accounts Head to lead our finance and accounting operations. In this role, you will take full ownership of all financial compliance, reporting, and operational accounting.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the retail and fabric/garments industry. You must be comfortable working independently to manage multi-location inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and statutory compliances.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead the end-to-end month-end and year-end closing processes independently.
- Account Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices, customer billing, and collections.
- TDS & GST : Coordinating with Companies CA for Filing of Monthly / Quarterly Filings
- Reconciliation: Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations for general ledgers, bank statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Compliance & Filings: Ensure compliance with tax laws, company policies, and relevant government regulations. This can include preparing and filing tax returns and assisting with audits.
- Auditing: Cooperate with external and internal auditors to prepare for and conduct audits.
Retail & Inventory Accounting
- Track and reconcile inventory across multiple warehouses and retail outlets.
- Oversee accurate product costing (COGS), including raw fabric, labor, and logistics.
- Manage Point-of-Sale (POS) system financial reconciliations and cash handling controls.
- Implement robust checks for inventory shrinkage, valuations, and seasonal markdowns.
- Ensure strict adherence to and filings.
- Manage sales tax, GST/VAT (if applicable), and payroll compliance.
- Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, tax authorities, and legal advisors.
Candidate must have knowledge and experience working with Tally Prime. and other POS and inventory software as well as advanced knowledge of Excel. The candidate needs to have strong communication skills in English and must have own transportation to commute to the location as well as to the bank.
