Job Summary:
The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment to ensure its safe and efficient operation. The role involves coordinating with clinical staff and vendors while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, inspect, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment.
* Perform preventive maintenance and calibration as per the maintenance schedule.
* Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with vendors when required.
* Maintain service records, maintenance logs, and equipment history files.
* Ensure all medical equipment complies with safety and quality standards.
* Conduct routine performance and safety checks of medical devices.
* Coordinate Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and Comprehensive Maintenance Contracts (CMC).
* Assist in procurement, evaluation, and commissioning of new medical equipment.
* Train hospital staff on the safe and proper use of medical equipment.
* Monitor equipment downtime and recommend replacement or upgrades when necessary.
* Ensure compliance with NABH and other applicable regulatory requirements.
* Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency service requests.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
* Knowledge of medical equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
* Familiarity with NABH standards is preferred.
* Good communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills:
* Strong technical and analytical skills.
* Knowledge of ICU, OT, Radiology, Laboratory, and other medical equipment.
* Vendor coordination and inventory management.
* Basic computer proficiency (MS Office and maintenance documentation).
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
