PLC Programmer – Job Description
Job Title: PLC Programmer

Reports To: Automation Manager / Project Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled PLC Programmer to design, develop, test, and maintain programmable logic controller (PLC) systems used in industrial automation. The candidate will work closely with electrical engineers, technicians, and project teams to implement reliable automation solutions for manufacturing and industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC control systems for industrial machines and processes.
- Design and modify PLC logic, HMI screens, and SCADA systems.
- Perform system testing, debugging, and commissioning of automation systems.
- Integrate PLCs with sensors, motors, drives and other industrial equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and control diagrams.
- Maintain and upgrade existing PLC programs to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production issues.
- Document programs, system configurations, and maintenance procedures.
- Work with cross-functional teams during installation and startup of automation systems.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text).
- Experience with PLC platforms such as:
- Siemens (S7, TIA Portal)
- Allen Bradley (RSLogix / Studio 5000)
- Mitsubishi / Omron (optional depending on company).
- Experience with HMI and SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet).
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control panel drawings.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Automation Engineering / Mechatronics.
- 2–5 years experience in PLC programming or industrial automation (can adjust for junior/senior role).
- Experience with machine commissioning and industrial automation projects preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VFDs, servo systems, and robotics.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards.
- Experience in manufacturing or process industries.
Work Environment
- Industrial / manufacturing environment.
- May require travel for machine installation and commissioning.
Salary
- Based on experience and skill level.

Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
