About the Role
Bavya Health Services Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Fleet Head to lead the fleet operations for the 104 Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Project across Andhra Pradesh. The role requires a dynamic leader with strong expertise in end-to-end fleet management, maintenance planning, operational excellence, vendor management, and team leadership.
The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, compliance, and performance of a fleet of approximately 900 ambulances/mobile medical units deployed across the state.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end fleet operations for approximately 900 ambulances/MMUs across Andhra Pradesh.
- Ensure maximum fleet availability through preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
- Monitor vehicle utilization, downtime, fuel efficiency, and operational performance.
- Develop and implement fleet maintenance schedules and monitor vehicle health.
- Manage breakdowns, emergency repairs, and ensure minimal service disruption.
- Lead and mentor regional fleet managers, supervisors, and support teams.
- Coordinate with vendors, workshops, OEMs, and spare parts suppliers for timely maintenance and procurement.
- Ensure statutory compliance, including vehicle registration, permits, insurance, fitness certificates, pollution certificates, and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor fleet-related MIS reports, KPIs, budgets, and operational dashboards.
- Optimize operational costs while maintaining high service quality and fleet uptime.
- Collaborate with project operations, logistics, procurement, and finance teams for seamless execution.
- Drive process improvements and implement best practices in fleet management.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred). MBA/PGDM in Operations is an added advantage.
- 10+ years of experience in fleet management, logistics, transportation, or ambulance operations.
- Proven experience managing large fleets (500+ vehicles). Experience handling 900+ vehicles is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, workshop operations, vendor management, and vehicle lifecycle management.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with experience leading geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/Fleet Management Systems, and MIS reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
