Field Counsellor – Inspira Program (Severe Asthma Support)Role Overview
The Field Counsellor is a field-based clinical support professional who assists healthcare professionals in conducting Severe Asthma Clinics. The role focuses on patient education, diagnostic support, documentation, and compliance, while ensuring that all medical decisions remain with the treating physician.
Reporting To
- Program Manager – Inspira Program
Work Location
- Assigned clinics and hospitals across selected cities in India.
Work Schedule
- 6 days per week
- Maximum 2 clinics/OPDs per day
- Support at least 6 clinics/hospitals per week
- Maintain over 90% attendance at assigned clinics
Key Responsibilities1. Clinic Support
- Attend assigned clinics according to schedule.
- Assist in organizing and supporting Severe Asthma Clinics.
- Ensure timely arrival and completion of assigned clinics.
2. Clinical Support (Non-Clinical Decision Making)
Assist healthcare professionals with:
- Asthma Control Test (ACT)
- Reversibility testing
- FeNO testing
- Spirometry (where applicable)
- Identifying incorrect inhaler techniques
- Demonstrating correct inhaler usage using approved program scripts
Not permitted to:
- Interpret diagnostic reports
- Diagnose patients
- Recommend or discuss treatment
- Provide prescriptions
- Stay inside the physician consultation room
3. Patient Education
- Educate enrolled patients on proper inhaler technique.
- Increase awareness of severe asthma management.
- Maintain professional, non-promotional communication.
- Follow approved educational scripts.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of:
- Clinics conducted
- Patient enrollment
- Severe asthma segmentation
- OCS tracking
- Repeat visits
- Inhaler technique errors
- Deployment utilization
Submit:
- Daily activity updates
- Monthly reports within the required timelines
5. Compliance & Pharmacovigilance
- Report Adverse Events (AE) within 24 hours.
- Follow:
- ABAC
- Data privacy requirements
- Code of Practice
- Pharma compliance policies
- Obtain necessary patient and HCP consents.
- Never store patient diagnostic data.
EligibilityPreferred Qualifications
- B.Sc Nursing
- GNM
- B.Sc Respiratory Therapy
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)
- Pulmonary Function Technician
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with respiratory exposure
Preferred Experience
- Patient Support Programs
- Respiratory care
- Hospital or clinic experience
Required Skills
- Excellent communication
- Fluency in the regional language (mandatory)
- Basic English
- Ability to teach inhaler techniques effectively
- Strong field execution and discipline
- High awareness of compliance and patient confidentiality
Role Boundaries
The Field Counsellor must not:
- Give medical advice
- Interpret test results
- Discuss prescriptions
- Store patient diagnostic data
- Be present during physician consultations
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Program Execution
- ≥90% clinic attendance
- ≥90% clinic completion
- ≥90% on-time arrival
Compliance
- 100% AE reporting within 24 hours
- Zero critical compliance violations
Reporting
- Monthly reports submitted within 5–7 working days
- Accurate documentation and tracking
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
