Job Summary
The Fitter is responsible for assembling, fitting, installing, and testing pharmaceutical machinery and equipment as per engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role requires precision, technical expertise, and adherence to safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements to ensure the successful manufacture of high-quality pharmaceutical machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble pharmaceutical machinery and equipment according to approved drawings, assembly instructions, and specifications.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, mechanical layouts, and bill of materials (BOM).
- Perform fitting, alignment, drilling, tapping, cutting, grinding, and finishing operations during machine assembly.
- Install mechanical components such as shafts, bearings, gears, couplings, motors, conveyors, guide rails, and pneumatic accessories.
- Conduct machine trials and functional checks to ensure proper operation and performance.
- Identify and rectify assembly defects, dimensional deviations, and mechanical issues.
- Coordinate with fabrication, machining, electrical, design, and quality departments to ensure smooth assembly processes.
- Carry out modifications and rework activities as instructed by supervisors or the engineering team.
- Assist in machine installation and commissioning activities at customer sites, when required.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment.
- Follow production schedules and complete assigned work within the stipulated timelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in accordance with company standards and 5S practices.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
- Prepare daily work reports and update assembly progress to supervisors.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
Qualifications and Experience
- ITI Certificate in Fitter Trade from a recognized institute.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.
Pay: From ₹450.00 per day
