Job Summary
We're looking for a Business Development & Pre-Sales Executive to drive growth in the Australian market. You'll own the full cycle from prospecting through discovery, solution shaping, proposal writing and handover to delivery — working closely with our global engineering team to turn client needs into commercially successful engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify Australian businesses needing custom software, web/mobile development, integrations, AI, automation or product engineering, and build a qualified pipeline via LinkedIn, outreach, referrals, partnerships and events.
- Secure discovery meetings, follow up consistently, and keep CRM records (leads, opportunities, value, next steps) accurate.
- Build relationships with founders, executives, agencies and channel partners; represent Pupa Clic professionally across meetings and industry forums.
Pre-Sales & Solution Discovery
- Run discovery meetings to understand goals, systems, budget and timelines, translating findings into clear briefs for technical teams.
- Work with architects, developers and PMs to validate feasibility and effort; help shape tech stack, phasing, team structure and engagement model.
- Flag risks, assumptions and dependencies before commitment; coordinate demos, workshops or proof-of-concepts as needed.
- Present solutions in business-friendly language while staying credible with technical stakeholders.
Proposals & Commercial Coordination
- Prepare proposals, estimates, statements of work and tender responses, coordinating with delivery on timelines, resourcing and commercial model (fixed-price, time & materials, retainer, dedicated team).
- Document scope, deliverables, exclusions and payment milestones clearly; support negotiations while protecting delivery quality and margin.
- Ensure all discovery details are captured before handover to delivery.
Relationship Management
- Be a responsive, trustworthy point of contact through the pre-sales cycle, managing expectations on scope, cost and timeline.
- Build long-term relationships that drive repeat business, referrals and account growth, working across Australian and Indian hours.
Market & Sales Enablement
- Track Australian market trends and competitor positioning; share pricing and demand insights with leadership.
- Support target account lists, ideal customer profiles, case studies and capability material across software, AI/automation, CRM/ERP, IoT and DevOps.
Requirements
- 2–5 years in business development, tech sales, pre-sales, solution consulting or account management — ideally selling software, digital or IT services.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and proposal-writing skills; able to run structured discovery and turn business needs into clear technical briefs.
- Working knowledge of web/mobile apps, APIs, integrations, CRMs, cloud platforms, automation and AI.
- Commercial judgment to balance client expectations, technical feasibility and margin.
- Excellent written and spoken English; confident engaging Australian clients and senior stakeholders.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented and comfortable working with remote, globally distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling to Australian SMEs, agencies, startups or enterprise clients, ideally with existing local networks.
- Experience with offshore/distributed delivery teams.
- Familiarity with WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, HubSpot, Salesforce, n8n, ERP or cloud platforms.
- Exposure to agentic/generative AI, workflow automation, IoT, firmware or hardware prototyping.
- Experience responding to formal tenders or RFPs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Fixed Salary: INR 40,000 – 55,000/month, based on experience and capability.
- Commission: Up to 10% on eligible sales — percentage varies by lead source, deal type, value, margin and contribution.
- Commission Eligibility: Payable only on approved opportunities that are successfully contracted and for which client payment has been received.
- Terms: Thresholds, payment timing, exclusions, shared-credit rules and clawback conditions are governed by the company's approved commission policy.
