Job purpose
The Oracle DBA will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle E-Business Suite
environments across DEV, TEST, UAT, and PROD landscapes. The role requires strong expertise in Oracle
database management, patching, environment cloning, and security compliance including hands-on expertise in
OCI administration. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of OCI services, cloud operations,
security, networking, identity management, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery. In addition, the candidate
will support SQL Server administration tasks including performance tuning, backup/restore management, and
maintenance activities. The position ensures high availability, reliability, scalability, and security of enterprise
database systems supporting key business applications.
Key responsibilities
Maintain and monitor the health, performance, and stability of Oracle EBS across DEV, TEST, UAT, and PROD
environments. Support code migrations and deployments.
Apply Oracle EBS patches (application, tech stack, database) based on business, compliance, and security needs.
Identify and remediate vulnerabilities. Ensure environments remain compliant by applying R12, AD/TXK, CPU, and
PSU patches in accordance with required schedules.
Perform end-to-end environment cloning procedures. Refresh UAT and DEV environments from Production as
required.
Administer and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.
Provision, configure, and maintain OCI Compute, Storage, Networking, and Database services.
Configure and maintain database maintenance plans, index management, consistency checks, and apply critical
security patches.
Configure and administer Identity and Access Management (IAM), policies, compartments, and security best
practices.
Monitor cloud infrastructure using OCI Monitoring, Logging, Alarms, and Notifications.
Perform backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Manage Object Storage, Block Volumes, File Storage, and Backup Policies.
Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, storage, and performance-related issues.
Monitor SQL Server performance using standard tools; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Administer and monitor high availability configurations such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, log shipping, and
replication. Manage database backups and restorations.
Work closely with application teams, developers, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution and optimization.
Maintain documentation for database environments, configurations, and operational procedures.
Key competencies
- Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/MBA in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
- 6 – 9 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in enterprise-level environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Experience with Compute Instance, Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN), Object Storage, Compartments.
- Provisioning, configuring, and administering ATP databases in OCI.
- Database lifecycle management including cloning, scaling, backup, restore, and patching
- Performance monitoring and tuning of ATP databases using OCI monitoring tools.
- User, schema, role, and privilege management.
- Oracle EBS environment management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience managing Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments administration.
- Oracle EBS patch management (Application, Technology Stack, Database).
- Oracle R12, AD & TXK patching, CPU/PSU patching.
- Environment cloning and refresh activities
- Oracle database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and RMAN.
- Strong understanding of Oracle architecture, WebLogic/OHS, concurrent managers, and workflow.
- SQL Server performance monitoring and tuning (Profiler, Execution Plans, DMVs, Performance Monitor).
- Experience with AlwaysOn Availability Groups, log shipping, replication.
- Backup and recovery strategy implementation & monitoring.
- Database maintenance plans, index optimization, and security patching.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Exposure to financial services or enterprise performance management domains.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
