About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Plant HR Manager to lead end-to-end plant HR operations in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in managing blue-collar and contract workforce, statutory compliance, employee welfare, payroll coordination, and plant administration.
This role is critical in ensuring workforce availability, employee retention, smooth plant operations, and maintaining a productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce Management
Manage end-to-end recruitment of blue-collar and contract employees.
Build and maintain a strong manpower pipeline through contractors, ITIs, job fairs, and local hiring channels.
Drive workforce retention initiatives and monitor absenteeism and attrition.
Coordinate manpower planning with production and maintenance teams.
Plant Administration & Employee Welfare
Oversee employee welfare activities including uniforms, PPE, transport, medical facilities, and engagement initiatives.
Manage plant housekeeping, security, facility administration, and vendor coordination.
Ensure smooth functioning of welfare facilities and common infrastructure.
Labour Quarters & Canteen Management
Manage labour accommodation, occupancy, maintenance, and cleanliness.
Supervise canteen operations, food quality, hygiene, vendor performance, and statutory compliance.
Coordinate maintenance of plant premises and common areas.
HR Operations
Ensure compliance with Factories Act, EPF, ESI, Contract Labour Act, Minimum Wages Act, and other labour laws.
Support payroll processing, attendance management, shift scheduling, and statutory documentation.
Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, onboarding, induction, and training coordination.
Required Qualifications
MBA (HR) / MSW / PG Diploma in Labour Laws or equivalent.
6–10 years of HR experience with at least 4 years in a manufacturing or industrial plant.
Proven experience managing large blue-collar and contract workforces.
Hands-on exposure to labour quarters, canteen administration, and plant HR operations.
Working knowledge of HRMS/Payroll systems such as GreytHR, Keka, SAP, or similar.
Strong understanding of labour laws, statutory compliance, and employee relations.
Fluency in Tamil is mandatory. Working knowledge of English and Hindi is preferred.
