ITI Electrician – Pharmaceutical Industry (API)
Position: ITI Electrician
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Reporting To: Maintenance Executive / Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for installation, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and utilities in the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility while ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot motors, pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, and utility equipment.
- Monitor and maintain electrical panels, MCCs, transformers, DG sets, and lighting systems.
- Attend electrical breakdowns and restore equipment operation with minimal downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical installations and report abnormalities.
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, logbooks, and checklists.
- Follow GMP, safety, and EHS guidelines while carrying out maintenance work.
- Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Support calibration and validation activities as required.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in maintenance and production areas.
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams for smooth plant operations.
Qualification
- ITI Electrician (NCVT certified).
Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in pharmaceutical, API, formulation, or manufacturing industries.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of electrical circuits, motors, control panels, and power distribution systems.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Basic knowledge of GMP and safety requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
