Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced QA/Test Engineer with 8+ years of experience in Manual Testing, Database Testing, and API Testing. The candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and monitoring testing activities across software projects. The role requires close collaboration with development, business, and support teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
The ideal candidate should be proactive, accountable, detail-oriented, and possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly learn new domains and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and complete software and system testing activities across projects.
- Analyze requirements and provide testing estimates.
- Develop test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
- Execute manual and API test cases and document results.
- Perform database validation using SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Create, track, and retest defects until closure.
- Prepare and maintain test data for various test scenarios.
- Monitor and report testing progress and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Support developers and technical teams in root-cause analysis and issue resolution.
- Review and approve testing deliverables and work products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience (or HS/GED with equivalent experience).
- Hands-on experience in Manual Testing, Database Testing, and API Testing.
- Strong understanding of defect management and software testing methodologies.
- Experience writing and executing test cases using spreadsheets or test management tools.
- Proficiency in SQL query writing and data validation from multiple database tables.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Curious and eager to learn business domains.
- Takes ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Comfortable working during overlap hours with onshore teams (7 AM–10 AM CST / Evening IST).
- Confident in conducting test case reviews and presenting test results.
- Willing to investigate issues independently while effectively seeking support when needed.
