Position: Welder
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Reporting To: Maintenance Supervisor / Engineering Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication work as per maintenance and production requirements.
- Carry out Arc Welding, MIG Welding, TIG Welding, and Gas Cutting operations.
- Repair damaged machine parts, structures, and equipment.
- Fabricate supports, platforms, guards, trolleys, pipelines, and steel structures.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication sketches.
- Perform preventive maintenance and welding repairs on plant equipment.
- Assist in installation and modification of machinery and utility systems.
- Inspect welded joints and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, and fabrication tools safely.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of welding consumables and gas cylinders.
- Maintain welding equipment in good working condition.
- Coordinate with maintenance, production, and utility teams during breakdowns and projects.
- Follow safety procedures, including the use of PPE and hot work permits.
- Maintain records of welding jobs, repairs, and material consumption.
Qualification
- ITI Welder / Fabricator or equivalent trade certification.
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, dairy, food processing, or engineering industry.
