Field Coordinator for the Together for Tomorrow project supported by Buimerc India Foundation.
Qualification
Postgraduate degree in any Biological Sciences with 2–3 years of experience in community-based work, including training, mobilization, and organization
Postgraduate degree in any Social Sciences in community-based plantation and fisheries-based livelihood projects.
Experience
2–3 years of experience in community-based work, including training, mobilization, and organization;
The field coordinator will coordinate in field level planning, implementation, and documentation of project activities related to community engagement, mangrove plantation, livelihood promotion, and community led governance.
Community Engagement and Capacity Building Facilitate engagement with local communities, including Panchayat members, fishermen, women, farmers, and Self-Help Groups (SHGs), to promote participation in mangrove conservation initiatives.
Support the establishment of the Alleppey Mangrove Learning School through Development and use of interpretive materials and Assistance in training modules and learning activities
Coordinate and Organise outreach programmes, including awareness sessions, training programmes, and workshops on mangrove ecology and sustainable management for: , Panchayat representatives, Fishing communities and Women and SHGs
Plan and conduct targeted awareness programmes for schools and colleges through, Mangrove walks, Exhibitions, Environment Day and Biodiversity Day events and Plantation drives Assist in the development and implementation of community-based mangrove management plans in coordination with local institutions and Panchayats.
Facilitate regular meetings and coordination among community stakeholders.
Mangrove Restoration and Conservation
Assist in Participatory mapping with local communities existing mangrove areas
Support identification of degraded mangrove areas and assist in plantation activities
Support the establishment and management of community managed mangrove nurseries for sapling production.
Promotion of Mangrove Based Livelihoods
Support demonstration and promotion of eco-friendly, mangrove integrated livelihood options, including Pokkali Mangrove Integrated System, Mangrove Crab Fattening Units, Mangrove Nursery Units and Integrated Mangrove Fishery Farming
Assist in setting up demonstration units and organising technical training programmes for beneficiaries.
Documentation
Maintain detailed records, reports, photographs, and field documentation of all project activities.
Contribute to progress reports, case studies, and inputs for donor and institutional reporting
Age Limit: 30 - 35 Years Contract Period: Two Years
