Job Description
Pedagogy Consulting is hiring a qualified and compassionate Special Educator & Counsellor to support students' academic, emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs in a school environment.
The ideal candidate should be able to work closely with students, teachers, parents, and the school support team to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Identify learning difficulties and support students through appropriate interventions.
- Prepare and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), where required.
- Conduct student observations and assessments.
- Provide counselling and emotional support to students.
- Monitor and document student progress.
- Maintain student records, reports, and intervention documentation.
- Work closely with teachers to adapt classroom strategies according to student needs.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and areas requiring support.
- Support the school in developing an inclusive learning environment.
- Coordinate with other professionals when additional student support is required.
Candidate Requirements
- B.Ed. in Special Education is mandatory.
- Relevant qualification in Psychology/Counselling will be preferred.
- RCI registration will be an advantage/required as applicable to the role.
- 1–5 years of relevant experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of student learning and behavioural needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and school leadership.
- Experience supporting students with learning difficulties, ADHD, ASD, or other special educational needs will be preferred.
