Job Title: Cellophane & Overwrapping Machine Operator (Perfume Industry)

Job Purpose
To operate and maintain cellophane and overwrapping machines for perfume and cosmetic products, ensuring proper wrapping quality, correct coding, efficient production output, and compliance with company quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor cellophane and overwrapping machines as per the production plan.
- Perform product changeovers, including adjustments for different bottle sizes, cartons, films, and product variants.
- Ensure correct cellophane wrapping, folding, sealing, cutting, tear-tape application, and overall product appearance.
- Load and manage packaging materials such as cellophane film, BOPP film, tear tape, cartons, labels, and adhesives.
- Check that the correct product, batch number, MRP, manufacturing date, expiry date, and other coding details are used.
- Conduct in-process quality checks for wrapping quality, seal integrity, film alignment, coding accuracy, and damaged cartons/products.
- Maintain required production, rejection, downtime, and quality-check records.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for film jams, uneven wrapping, sealing issues, sensor problems, and minor machine breakdowns.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance team for major machine faults and with the Quality team for inspection and approvals.
- Ensure line clearance before starting a new batch or product changeover.
- Follow SOPs, GMP, 5S, safety practices, and hygiene requirements at all times.
- Keep the machine and work area clean, organised, and ready for the next production run.
- Minimise material wastage and report any production, quality, or safety issue to the supervisor immediately.
Candidate Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience operating cellophane, overwrapping, or similar secondary packaging machines.
- Experience in the perfume, cosmetics, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or personal-care industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of packaging films, tear tape, sealing, product coding, and machine changeover.
- Ability to identify basic quality defects and perform minor machine adjustments.
- Familiarity with production documentation, SOPs, GMP, and 5S practices.
- Ability to work in shifts, if required.
- ITI/Diploma or relevant technical qualification preferred; experience may be considered in place of formal education.
