Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Workshop Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of buses and lorries. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring vehicle availability, minimizing breakdowns, supervising technicians, and maintaining workshop efficiency while following safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily workshop operations for buses and lorries.
- Plan and monitor preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and air system issues.
- Ensure vehicles are serviced and released on time to minimize downtime.
- Allocate work to technicians and monitor repair quality.
- Inspect vehicles before and after repairs to ensure roadworthiness.
- Coordinate with operations to schedule vehicle maintenance without affecting fleet availability.
- Maintain service records, job cards, and maintenance history.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate with the purchase team for timely procurement.
- Ensure proper usage of tools, equipment, and workshop resources.
- Control maintenance costs while maintaining high-quality repairs.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workshop.
- Support emergency roadside breakdowns whenever required.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports for management.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of heavy commercial vehicle maintenance.
- Expertise in diesel engines, transmission, clutch, gearbox, brake, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Experience in workshop operations and fleet management.
- Ability to lead and supervise technicians.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of spare parts management and inventory control.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and maintenance documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in omni bus, transport, logistics, or commercial vehicle fleet operations is preferred.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
