- Inbound Logistics & Material Flow Management
- Own and manage the inbound flow of production materials, from purchase order release through logistics coordination and invoice follow-up.
- Ensure correct and timely supplier documentation to enable accurate goods receipt by the warehousing team.
- Proactively monitor material availability and communicate risks related to stockouts, capacity constraints, and phase-in/phase-out activities.
- Define and maintain optimal ordering regimes, safety stocks, and replenishment parameters for production materials and spare parts.
- Inventory & Performance Control
- Manage and control inventory levels, including safety stock, supplier-held stock, aging inventory, and overstock situations.
- Define, track, and improve key logistics KPIs such as supplier delivery performance, inventory health, shortages, freight cost, and environmental impact.
- Take ownership for reducing production line disruptions caused by material shortages.
- Define adequate KPIs to follow progress
- Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in inbound logistics processes and implement sustainable improvements.
- Drive initiatives focused on lead time reduction, vendor inventory optimization, ordering cycles, material handling reduction, and freight cost optimization.
- Ensure accurate system transactions and data integrity for all material movements.
- People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the Inbound Logistics team (typically 2–5 direct reports).
- Ensure adequate staffing levels through manpower planning and recommendations for hiring or organizational changes.
- Build a high-performance team culture through clear objectives, regular feedback, coaching, and motivation.
- Conduct performance reviews, support development plans, and contribute to salary reviews and recognition processes.
- Compliance, Safety & Governance
- Ensure full compliance with global and local policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Identify and mitigate operational, safety, and supply risks within the inbound logistics scope.
- Act as a logistics ambassador towards suppliers and internal stakeholders, representing the company professionally and consistently.
- Diploma, bachelor or master (preferably in Logistics or similar relevant field)
- At least 5 years of working experience within Logistics and/or Procurement, proven leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing company.
- Ability to influence at all levels in the organization.
- Strong industrial knowledge of procurement and logistics with the ability to understand various supply chain models.
- Strong logical and analytical skills.
- Motivation to continuously improve processes.
- Good communicator with great interpersonal relationship building skills.
- Must be PC literate and familiar with data analysis. Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O highly desirable.
- Communicative in Kannada and English, other languages are beneficial.
