Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced R&D Professional to lead product design, validation, development, and continuous improvement activities for motorcycle lead-acid batteries. The role requires driving new product development, reducing customer complaints, improving warranty performance, and benchmarking against competitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new motorcycle VRLA/MF battery products and validate through lab and field testing.
- Improve battery performance, reliability, and service life; support cost optimization and value engineering.
- Investigate customer complaints and warranty failures using RCA methodologies (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, CAPA).
- Implement process and design changes to reduce field failures; prepare validation reports and technical documentation.
- Conduct competitor battery teardown, benchmarking, and develop product enhancement roadmaps.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Procurement, and Sales teams for timely project execution.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory)
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in lead-acid battery design and development
- Experience in motorcycle VRLA/MF battery design preferred
- Strong knowledge of lead-acid battery chemistry and electrochemistry
- Proven experience in failure analysis and warranty reduction programs
