Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide on-scene patient assessment.
- Deliver Basic Life Support (BLS), including CPR, airway management, oxygen therapy, bleeding control, and splinting.
- Assist paramedics with advanced procedures as allowed by certification level.
- Safely lift, move, and transport patients to medical facilities.
- Communicate patient status and care provided to receiving hospital staff.
- Operate emergency vehicles in accordance with safety and traffic regulations.
- Maintain and clean medical equipment, supplies, and the ambulance.
- Document patient care using electronic or written reporting systems.
- Follow all local, state, and federal medical protocols and regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Current EMT certification (EMT-Basic, Advanced EMT, or equivalent).
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in high-stress situations.
- Ability to lift and move 100+ lbs with assistance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Compassion, professionalism, and emotional resilience.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, unpredictable emergency settings.
- Exposure to outdoor weather, accidents, trauma, and medical emergencies.
- Shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays.
