Position Summary:
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with strong hands-on skills in mechanical design, CAD, prototyping, fabrication, and robotics hardware development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking concepts from design to manufacturable prototypes and mentoring students through practical engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, prototype, and develop mechanical components, assemblies, kits, and enclosures for robotics hardware.
- Create and maintain parametric CAD models and assemblies using OnShape, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360.
- Apply DFM/DFA principles across injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, laser cutting, and 3D printing.
- Work closely with electronics, software, and robotics teams to integrate mechanical systems and ensure reliable fit, mounting, cable routing, and serviceability.
- Guide students and young innovators through mechanical design, fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, and iterative product development.
Requirements:
- CAD proficiency in OnShape, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360, including parametric modeling and assemblies.
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFA for injection molding, sheet metal, and 3D printing.
- Working knowledge of tolerancing and GD&T for manufactured and assembled parts.
- Ability to select materials including plastics, metals, and fasteners while balancing cost, durability, and manufacturability.
- Hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, laser cutting, 3D printing, and general manufacturing processes, with the ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues.
- Experience designing robotics kits and enclosures, including mounting, cable routing, access, and serviceability considerations.
- Basic mechanism design knowledge covering linkages, gearing, and simple actuation systems.
- Experience in competitive robotics, hackathons, college technical communities, or similar hands-on engineering environments is preferred.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
