About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Human Resources to join a leading Japanese Automobile Manufacturing MNC in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have strong HR Generalist experience with exposure to employee relations, recruitment, performance management, labour laws, statutory compliance, and HR operations within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end HR Generalist activities across the employee lifecycle.
- Handle recruitment and manpower planning for various functions and levels.
- Manage employee relations, grievance handling, disciplinary matters, and workplace engagement.
- Drive and coordinate performance management and appraisal processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Indian Labour Laws and statutory regulations.
- Manage statutory compliance related to PF, ESI, Gratuity, Bonus, Shops & Establishments, Factory/Industrial regulations, and other applicable requirements.
- Support HR policies, processes, audits, documentation, and reporting.
- Partner with business leaders and functional heads on people-related matters.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR reports through HRMS/ERP systems.
- Contribute to employee engagement, retention, training, and organizational development initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Japanese management practices.
Key Requirements
- 6–10 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong experience in HR Generalist functions.
- Hands-on experience in Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance Management, and HR Operations.
- Strong knowledge of Indian Labour Laws and Statutory Compliance.
- Experience in Automobile, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Industrial organizations is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with a Japanese MNC will be an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of HRMS/ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, SuccessFactors, or equivalent systems.
- Kannada proficiency is mandatory.
- Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Willingness to relocate to Bangalore if currently based elsewhere in India.
Preferred Skills & Exposure
- Experience working with or understanding Japanese work culture and management practices.
- Knowledge of Kaizen, 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Lean practices.
- Experience working in a structured manufacturing/factory environment.
- Strong employee engagement and conflict-resolution capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with senior management, employees, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹3,500,000.00 per year
