Job Description – Testing Engineer (Geotechnical Laboratory)
Position : Testing Engineer
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
Experience : 0–3 years (Freshers with strong academic knowledge may also apply)
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Testing Engineer to support geotechnical laboratory operations. The role involves conducting and supervising soil and rock testing, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, preparing technical reports, and maintaining laboratory quality systems in line with NABL and ISO requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. Geotechnical Testing
- Perform and supervise soil and rock laboratory testing in accordance with IS and ASTM standards.
- Ensure accurate execution of testing procedures and interpretation of results.
- Maintain a high level of testing accuracy and quality.
2. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare, review, and maintain detailed laboratory test reports.
- Ensure timely submission of reports with complete technical documentation.
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation as per organizational and accreditation requirements.
3. Laboratory Operations
- Monitor calibration, maintenance, and proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety practices and operational procedures.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance schedules and inventory requirements.
4. Project Coordination
- Coordinate with project teams and clients to understand testing requirements.
- Plan laboratory activities to meet project timelines and deliverables.
- Communicate testing progress and resolve technical queries effectively.
5. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABL accreditation requirements and ISO quality management systems.
- Support internal and external audits and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain laboratory quality records and standard operating procedures.
6. Team Leadership
- Guide and supervise laboratory technicians and junior engineers.
- Provide technical support and on-the-job training to laboratory staff.
- Foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Job RequirementsEducational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil Engineering.
Technical Knowledge
- Good understanding of geotechnical engineering principles.
- Knowledge of IS and ASTM standards for soil and rock testing.
- Sound understanding of laboratory testing practices, mathematics, and engineering fundamentals.
Practical Skills
- Hands-on experience with geotechnical laboratory equipment is preferred.
- Ability to perform, interpret, and validate laboratory test results.
Reporting Skills
- Proficiency in preparing technical reports and documentation.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Quality & Compliance
- Familiarity with ISO Quality Management Systems and NABL accreditation requirements.
- Understanding of laboratory quality assurance and audit processes.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
