An MEP Supervisor manages the on-site installation, testing, and maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems. They act as the vital link between project engineers and field technicians, ensuring all behind-the-scenes building infrastructure is safely executed according to design specifications, building codes, and project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Supervision: Oversee daily field operations for HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and ELV (Extra-Low Voltage) systems.
- Quality & Compliance: Verify that equipment and installations strictly adhere to approved blueprints, manufacturer guidelines, and local safety (HSE) standards
- Team Management: Coordinate schedules and delegate tasks to tradespeople, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose on-site technical issues (e.g., electrical faults) in real-time and devise effective corrective actions.
- Reporting & Maintenance: Maintain daily logs, report on project milestones, and oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) routines. [1, 2]
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or B.Tech degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Typically 2 to 4+ years of relevant on-site experience in construction or facility management.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and shop drawings.
- Certifications: Industry-recognized credentials in health, safety, and system commissioning can provide an advantage
