Job Summary:
The Lab Technician is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing patient samples. The role ensures accurate test results, proper maintenance of laboratory equipment, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood, urine, and other samples from patients following proper procedures
- Perform routine laboratory tests such as hematology, biochemistry, and microbiology
- Prepare and label samples accurately for testing
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
- Record and report test results in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of specimens and chemicals
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the laboratory
- Follow infection control and safety guidelines at all times
- Assist doctors and senior lab staff in special tests and procedures
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation
