Job Description – UAV Software Engineer (C/C++, Python, GCS & Firmware) Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated UAV Software Engineer with strong expertise in embedded systems, Ground Control Station (GCS) development, firmware development, and AI-based computer vision. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with the ArduPilot ecosystem, communication protocols, and UAV software architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain UAV firmware and embedded software.
- Develop and customize Ground Control Station (GCS) applications for mission planning, telemetry, and payload control.
- Develop software using C/C++ and Python for embedded and desktop applications.
- Integrate sensors, payloads, and peripherals with flight controllers and onboard computers.
- Customize, debug, and enhance the ArduPilot software stack.
- Implement and troubleshoot UAV communication protocols and hardware interfaces.
- Generate datasets, train AI models, and optimize them for deployment on edge devices.
- Debug hardware-software integration issues and collaborate on system integration, testing, and field trials.
Required Skills
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience in custom Ground Control Station (GCS) development and UAV firmware development.
- Strong understanding of the ArduPilot software stack and flight controller architecture.
- Knowledge of communication protocols including MAVLink, UART, I²C, CAN Bus, SPI, and Ethernet/TCP-IP.
- Experience integrating UAV peripherals such as cameras, gimbals, GPS, IMUs, and telemetry systems.
- Experience with Linux, Git, embedded software development, and debugging.
- Experience in AI dataset generation, model training, and computer vision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with PX4 or ArduPilot flight controllers.
- Familiarity with OpenCV, GStreamer, and embedded Linux development.
- Experience with UAV system integration, testing, and field deployments.
