Job Description – Physical Education Teacher
Location: Electronic City Bangalore
Role Overview
The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for promoting physical fitness, health awareness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students through structured physical education programs, sports activities, and co-curricular events.
Key Responsibilities Teaching & Student Development
- Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
- Develop students’ physical fitness, motor skills, coordination, and overall well-being.
- Encourage participation in sports, games, and fitness activities.
- Assess student performance and maintain progress records.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Sports & Activity Management
- Organize inter-house, inter-school, and annual sports events.
- Coach school teams for competitions and tournaments.
- Identify and nurture students with sporting talent.
- Conduct morning exercises, drills, and fitness sessions.
Safety & Discipline
- Ensure safety standards during sports and physical activities.
- Maintain sports equipment and playground facilities.
- Educate students on injury prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance and assessment records.
- Prepare lesson plans and activity schedules.
- Coordinate with teachers for sports integration and school events.
- Support school assemblies, celebrations, and special programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed) / M.P.Ed preferred.
- Relevant teaching certification (if applicable).
- Minimum 1–3 years of teaching or coaching experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of sports techniques and fitness training.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students of different age groups.
- Organizational and event management skills.
- First Aid & CPR certification (preferred).
