Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AAOS Developer with strong expertise in Java, Kotlin, and deep experience developing In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems based on Android Automotive OS. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end development and integration of Android applications and services into automotive-grade environments, ensuring compliance with performance, security, and UX standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Android Automotive (AAOS) applications and middleware services using Java and Kotlin.

Customize Android System UI components for the automotive environment (e.g., Launcher, Notification, Car Settings, etc.).

Integrate with vehicle HAL and CAN/LIN-based interfaces via Vehicle HAL (VHAL).

Work closely with BSP teams to ensure proper integration between hardware and Android services.

Optimize performance, boot time, and memory usage for embedded automotive platforms.

Work with AOSP and vendor-specific customizations for AAOS platform adaptation.

Implement features conforming to automotive standards such as ASIL, ISO 26262, and Functional Safety requirements.

Collaborate with UX/UI teams to deliver a seamless user experience compliant with OEM branding.

Debug issues using Android log analysis, trace tools, and embedded diagnostics.

Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
Required Skills & Qualifications::

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.

Strong programming skills in Java and Kotlin.

Proven experience with Android Automotive OS (AAOS).

Deep understanding of AOSP, Android Services, System Apps, and HAL layer.

Experience with Android Framework and Middleware development.
-
Hands-on with Car API, VHAL, Binder IPC, and Linux-based embedded systems.
-
Familiar with tools like adb, systrace, logcat, and perf analyzers.

Experience in customizing Car Launcher, Car Settings, or infotainment features.
-
Strong knowledge of Gradle, Android Build System, and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with Gerrit, Git, and Jira.
Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with Cluster or Digital Cockpit development.

Familiarity with C/C++, especially for HAL-level interaction.

Experience with audio routing, media, Bluetooth, Navigation, and voice assistant integration.

Exposure to Automotive Cybersecurity, OTA update frameworks, or Diagnostic protocols (UDS, DoIP).

Knowledge of Google Automotive Services (GAS) vs Non-GAS implementations.
