Position: Head of Laboratory / Lab HOD
Department: Quality Assurance / Laboratory
Location: Maheshtala, Kolkata
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for development and management of the Laboratory.
- Develop a clear 1-year Action Plan / Roadmap for NABL accreditation and drive its execution.
- Identify gaps in infrastructure, equipment, manpower, testing capability, documentation and systems required for NABL.
- Prepare and present improvement proposals to Management and obtain necessary approval, budget and resources.
- Lead implementation of ISO/IEC 17025-based laboratory systems, procedures, documentation, calibration and traceability.
- Monitor progress against the NABL roadmap and ensure time-bound execution and closure of gaps.
- Lead and guide laboratory technicians; detailed hands-on knowledge of every test is not mandatory, but strong overall understanding of laboratory testing is required.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production and Management for laboratory development and customer requirements.
Eligibility
- Diploma/B.Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc. in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
- 8-12 years’ experience in a manufacturing/quality laboratory.
- Strong understanding of NABL / ISO 17025 requirements and laboratory management.
- Proven ability to prepare an action plan, get Management buy-in, arrange resources and execute a laboratory development project.
- Strong leadership, planning, communication and execution skills.
Critical Selection Requirement
The candidate must be capable of independently taking ownership of the existing laboratory and, through proper planning, Management buy-in and execution, making it NABL accreditation-ready within 1 year.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
