Job Summary
The Powder Coating Lead is responsible for overseeing all powder coating operations while managing manufacturing projects from planning through completion. This role ensures high-quality finishing, efficient production scheduling, adherence to safety and quality standards, and successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise in powder coating processes, and effective coordination between production, engineering, procurement, quality, and customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesPowder Coating Operations
- Supervise daily powder coating production activities.
- Ensure proper surface preparation, pretreatment, powder application, curing, and final inspection.
- Monitor coating quality, thickness, adhesion, color consistency, and finish according to customer specifications.
- Maintain powder coating equipment, ovens, spray booths, and related machinery.
- Troubleshoot coating defects and implement corrective actions.
- Optimize material usage to minimize waste and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate powder coating operators and technicians.
- Maintain production records, quality reports, and equipment maintenance logs.
Project Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop project schedules, resource plans, and production timelines.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, production, quality, logistics, and customers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and progress against milestones.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Conduct project review meetings and provide regular status updates to management.
- Ensure customer specifications and quality requirements are met.
- Support new product development, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards and company procedures.
- Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Analyze production performance using KPIs and recommend improvements.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in powder coating and manufacturing operations.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of powder coating processes, pretreatment systems, curing ovens, and coating quality standards.
- Experience with production planning and project management.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
