Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Power Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating power presses to shape, cut, and form metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality metal parts, ensuring safety standards are met and manufacturing processes run smoothly. Duties
- Set up and operate various types of power presses, including stamping presses and forming machines, ensuring proper tooling and safety protocols are followed.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately produce parts according to design requirements.
- Perform precision measurements using measuring instruments to verify the quality of finished components and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting on power press equipment to maximize uptime and productivity.
- Use hand tools, welding equipment, CNC laser cutting machines, plasma cutters, and CNC milling machines as needed for auxiliary fabrication tasks.
- Follow safety procedures diligently, including crane operation when handling heavy materials or tooling.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and coordinate with quality inspection personnel to maintain high standards of workmanship.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating power presses or similar metal forming machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical knowledge of press operation, tooling setup, and machine maintenance.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, and shop math for precise fabrication tasks.
- Familiarity with CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, and stamping press operations is a plus.
- Skilled in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments including proper use of hand tools, safety protocol adherence, crane operation, and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting while maintaining high safety standards.
