Roles & Responsibilities: Sr. Project Engineer
Project Execution & Advanced Client Coordination
- Lead end-to-end site execution while ensuring compliance with drawings, quality standards, and project schedules.
- Independently handle escalations related to manpower, materials, design clarifications, item discrepancies, and quantity deviations, ensuring minimal impact on progress.
- Communicate proactively with clients regarding site issues, obtain approvals for deviations, and secure client confidence while safeguarding company interests.
- Coordinate effectively with external stakeholders—vendors, subcontractors, consultants, and client engineers—and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Liaise with internal departments such as Design, Planning, Purchase, Accounts, Service, and Labour Management to ensure seamless project flow.
- Provide early warnings on risks and propose preventive or corrective actions.
Leadership, Ownership & Process Improvement
- Conduct project kickoff meetings, align team members, and define responsibilities and execution strategies.
- Identify bottlenecks (operational, technical, manpower-related) and drive quick, practical resolutions.
- Ensure thorough documentation of all deviations, including Work Authorizations (WA), email trails, photos, and impact assessments, and maintain updated action/mitigation plans.
- Present innovations, process improvements, vendor/sub-contractor additions, and learnings in weekly review meetings.
- Guide and support peer teams; take ownership in cross-functional coordination.
- Strengthen technical competency in HVAC design principles, ducting standards, heat load calculations, equipment selection, and installation best practices.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities that reflect readiness for mid-level management responsibilities.
Operational Excellence & Reporting
- Oversee material planning, tracking, and timely delivery, ensuring accuracy of quantities and preventing wastage.
- Lead daily coordination with labour supervisors, foremen, and technicians to resolve operational gaps and ensure uninterrupted execution.
- Conduct internal site audits, validate work quality, raise WIRs/MIRs, and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Prepare and present MIS reports, progress updates, snag lists, and status dashboards to management.
- Ensure smooth and accurate billing support, including quantity verification, site measurements, and documentation.
- Drive disciplined documentation and reporting standards across the project.
Leadership Development & Growth Towards APM Role
- Demonstrate strong initiative, ownership, and decision-making in all project matters.
- Develop leadership skills by motivating teams, managing conflicts, and enabling smooth coordination across all levels.
- Identify value-added ideas—cost optimizations, process simplifications, technical enhancements—to contribute to organizational improvement.
- Show readiness to take partial responsibility for multiple projects or larger project scopes during the probation period.
- Build strong client relationships that support repeat business and positive project feedback.
- Achieve performance benchmarks that qualify for promotion to Assistant Project Manager (APM) within 6 months.
