Production Manager – HVAC Manufacturing
Position Details
Designation: Production Manager – HVAC
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Reporting To: Plant Head / General Manager – Operations
Location: Bahadurgarh, Haryana
Experience: 8–15 Years in HVAC / Sheet Metal / Manufacturing
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Job Purpose
To lead and manage the complete HVAC manufacturing and production operations, ensuring timely production, high product quality, optimum manpower and machine utilization, cost control, and compliance with safety and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules as per customer requirements.
- Ensure achievement of production targets within defined timelines.
- Coordinate with PPC, Stores, Purchase, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams.
- Monitor production progress and take corrective action against delays and bottlenecks.
- Optimize production flow and manufacturing processes.
2. HVAC Manufacturing Operations
- Manage manufacturing of HVAC equipment such as AHU, FCU, ducting, ventilation systems, chillers/components, and related sheet-metal products, as applicable.
- Ensure proper execution of fabrication, cutting, bending, welding, assembly, insulation, testing, and finishing processes.
- Ensure production is carried out according to approved drawings, BOMs, specifications, and work instructions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and productivity enhancement.
3. Manpower Management
- Plan manpower requirements according to production schedules.
- Allocate manpower effectively across production lines and workstations.
- Monitor employee productivity, discipline, attendance, and performance.
- Train and develop supervisors, operators, and production staff.
- Promote teamwork and a positive work culture.
4. Quality Management
- Coordinate with the Quality Department to maintain required product standards.
- Ensure compliance with approved specifications and quality procedures.
- Reduce rejection, rework, wastage, and customer complaints.
- Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
5. Cost & Productivity Control
- Control manufacturing costs through efficient utilization of manpower, materials, machines, and utilities.
- Monitor scrap and material wastage.
- Improve productivity through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement practices.
- Monitor key production KPIs such as output, productivity, rejection, rework, downtime, and OEE where applicable.
6. Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Department for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Ensure minimum machine downtime and maximum equipment availability.
- Report recurring equipment problems and support implementation of permanent solutions.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to workplace safety procedures.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and promote safe working practices.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with statutory and company safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area.
