Job Title
EM Simulation Engineer — 3D Electromagnetics (HFSS)
Job Summary
The candidate will be responsible for performing 3D full-wave electromagnetic simulations using Ansys HFSS, supporting the design, analysis, and optimization of RF components, high-speed interconnects, and electromagnetic systems.
The role involves working closely with the sales team and customers in both pre-sales and post-sales activities, as well as with system and engineering teams, to ensure accurate electromagnetic behaviour and reliable performance.
Key Responsibilities
-
Perform 3D electromagnetic simulations for RF components such as antennas, connectors, waveguides, enclosures, and PCB structures using HFSS.
-
Model and analyze high-frequency structures, including transmission lines, vias, transitions, and discontinuities.
-
Extract key EM parameters such as S-parameters, impedance, radiation patterns, gain, efficiency, and field distributions.
-
Perform frequency-domain and time-domain EM analysis for signal integrity and RF performance validation.
-
Support antenna design and optimization, including impedance matching, bandwidth improvement, and radiation performance.
-
Conduct parametric studies, optimization, and sensitivity analysis to improve design robustness.
-
Perform EMI/EMC analysis, including shielding effectiveness, coupling, and interference mitigation strategies.
-
Collaborate with PCB and mechanical teams to recommend improvements in layout, grounding, shielding, and enclosure design.
-
Support co-simulation workflows involving circuit tools (SIwave, ADS, etc.) and system-level integration.
-
Validate simulation results with measurements such as VNA, anechoic chamber testing, and near-/far-field measurements.
-
Prepare detailed technical reports, simulation documentation, and design guidelines.
-
Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations based on EM analysis.
