Job Description - Service Technician (Pump & Control Unit)
Department: After-Sales Service/Technical Support - Kessel India Drainage Pvt Ltd.
Location: Bangalore (Field-based, with weekend PPM support)
Reporting To: Regional Service Manager/After-Sales Head
Job Summary:
The Service Technician will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance of Pump & Control Units installed at client sites. The role includes PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) activities, especially during weekends, along with installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and after-sales technical support. The technician will coordinate closely with the Regional Manager and the Drainage Systems & Installation teams to ensure high service quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform scheduled PPM and corrective maintenance for Pump & Control Units.
· Conduct operational checks, fault diagnosis, and performance verification.
· Ensure smooth running and optimal performance of installed systems.
· Assist in installation and commissioning of Pump Stations, Lifting Stations, and Control Panels at customer sites.
· Ensure systems are installed per manufacturer standards and site requirements.
· Attend to service calls, identify issues, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
· Support BMS/Modbus integration and troubleshoot wiring, sensor, or communication issues.
· Coordinate activities with the Regional Manager and project team for timely execution.
· Maintain detailed service reports, checklists, and customer sign-offs after each visit.
· Escalate unresolved issues or technical challenges to higher technical support.
· Provide on-site technical guidance and operational training to end users.
· Represent the company in a professional manner and ensure customer satisfaction.
· Follow all safety protocols during site activities.
· Ensure proper handling of tools, equipment, and control systems.
Qualification & Experience:
· ITI/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
· 1-3 years of field experience in pump systems, control panels, or wastewater system preferred.
· Knowledge of Modbus/BMS integration will be an added advantage.
Skills Required:
· Strong understanding of pump operations and control logic.
· Ability to read electrical diagrams and troubleshoot control panels.
· Hands-on experience with installation and maintenance tools.
· Excellent communication and coordination skills.
· Willingness to work on weekends and travel to various sites as required.

· Timely completion of scheduled PPM activities.
· Reduction in repeat service calls.
· Customer satisfaction rating.
· Accuracy and completeness of service documentation.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
