Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Inventory Controller with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience specifically in the Plastic Injection Moulding / Plastic Manufacturing industry.
The candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling the complete inventory function, including Raw Materials, WIP, Finished Goods, Consumables, Packaging Materials, Masterbatch, Additives, Moulding Materials, and Spare Parts.
The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in inventory control, stores management, material reconciliation, stock verification, ERP-based inventory management, MIS reporting, and coordination with Purchase, Production, Quality, Dispatch, and Accounts teams.
Experience in Plastic Injection Moulding / Plastic Manufacturing is MANDATORY. Candidates from other industries without relevant plastic manufacturing experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and control day-to-day inventory and stores operations**.
* Maintain accurate inventory records for:
* Plastic Raw Materials
* Masterbatch & Additives
* WIP
* Finished Goods
* Consumables
* Packaging Materials
* Moulding Consumables
* Spare Parts
* Ensure timely availability of materials for plastic injection moulding production.
* Monitor minimum, maximum, reorder and safety stock levels.
* Track and control material receipts, issues, transfers, returns, adjustments, and consumption.
* Monitor material consumption against production requirements and identify abnormal consumption or wastage.
* Conduct regular physical stock verification, cycle counts, and stock audits.
* Reconcile physical stock with ERP/system stock and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
* Take corrective action for stock shortages, excess stock, system errors, and inventory variances.
* Identify and report slow-moving, non-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.
* Ensure proper implementation of FIFO/FEFO wherever applicable.
* Ensure proper identification, labeling, coding, storage, and location management of all materials.
* Maintain proper documentation for GRN, Material Issue, Material Return, Stock Transfer, Stock Adjustment, and other inventory transactions.
* Coordinate with Purchase regarding pending materials, shortages, and expected delivery schedules.
* Coordinate closely with Production, Stores, Purchase, Quality, Dispatch, and Accounts for smooth material flow.
* Ensure proper material planning and availability according to production schedules.
* Monitor and control inventory levels to minimize inventory carrying costs, shortages, wastage, and material losses.
* Ensure proper handling and storage of plastic raw materials, masterbatch, additives, packaging materials, and other production materials.
* Monitor WIP movement from production to subsequent processes and finished goods.
* Ensure accurate finished goods inventory and coordinate with Dispatch for material availability.
* Maintain accurate inventory data in the ERP system and ensure timely system transactions.
* Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly inventory MIS reports.
* Prepare stock aging, stock variance, consumption, slow-moving, non-moving, and inventory accuracy reports.
* Support internal and external inventory audits and provide required documents and reports.
* Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective and preventive actions.
* Develop and improve inventory control systems, processes, and SOPs.
* Monitor inventory accuracy and continuously improve **stock accuracy and inventory turnover**.
* Train and guide Stores/Inventory team members on proper inventory procedures and documentation.
* Ensure discipline and compliance with company inventory and stores procedures.
* Report major inventory discrepancies, shortages, excess stock, and critical material issues to management.
* Prepare and present inventory-related **MIS and analytical reports to management.
Senior-Level Responsibilities
* Take complete ownership of **inventory accuracy and control**.
* Establish and monitor inventory control procedures and systems.
* Analyze inventory trends and provide recommendations to management.
* Develop strategies to reduce **excess inventory, dead stock, wastage, and stock shortages.
* Improve inventory turnover and optimize stock levels.
* Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring inventory discrepancies.
* Lead periodic stock audits and cycle-count programs.
* Monitor team performance and ensure timely completion of inventory-related activities.
* Coordinate with management and cross-functional departments for effective **material planning and inventory optimization**.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in Inventory Control / Stores / Material Management – Mandatory.**
- Minimum 5+ years of experience specifically in Plastic Injection Moulding / Plastic Manufacturing – Mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of **plastic raw materials and injection moulding inventory.
- Hands-on knowledge of Masterbatch, Additives, WIP, Finished Goods, Packaging Materials, Consumables, and Spare Parts.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and stock control techniques.
- Excellent understanding of stock reconciliation and physical stock verification.
- Strong knowledge of ERP-based inventory management*
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel, including inventory reports, reconciliation, and MIS.
- Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO and inventory control techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
- Good understanding of material movement and production-related inventory control.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.

Qualification & Eligibility
Qualification: Graduate / Diploma in relevant discipline.
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
Candidates must have prior hands-on experience in Plastic Injection Moulding / Plastic Manufacturing
ERP:Hands-on experience in ERP-based inventory/stores management is mandatory.
MS Excel: Good knowledge of MS Excel, inventory reconciliation, MIS reporting, stock analysis, and data management.
Leadership: Candidate should be capable of independently handling inventory control activities and guiding the Stores/Inventory team.
Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with strong experience in plastic raw material management, injection moulding production support, stock reconciliation, ERP inventory control, and inventory audit will be preferred.
