The Bioinformatics Executive is responsible for analyzing and interpreting genomic and molecular diagnostic data generated through Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and other molecular platforms. The role supports clinicians and laboratory teams by ensuring accurate bioinformatics analysis, data quality, report generation, and compliance with laboratory quality standards.
- Perform bioinformatics analysis of NGS and molecular diagnostic data.
- Execute sequence alignment, variant calling, annotation, and interpretation using validated bioinformatics pipelines.
- Review data quality metrics and troubleshoot sequencing or analysis issues.
- Prepare bioinformatics reports for clinical interpretation.
- Maintain genomic databases and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with molecular pathologists, geneticists, and laboratory scientists for result validation.
- Support validation of new assays, software, and bioinformatics workflows.
- Maintain documentation in accordance with NABL, CAP, and other quality standards.
- Ensure timely delivery of reports within defined turnaround times (TAT).
- Stay updated with advancements in genomics, bioinformatics tools, and clinical databases.
- M.Sc. in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Genetics, Computational Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Certification in NGS/Bioinformatics is an added advantage.
