Role Overview
An Eyewear Consultant helps customers choose the right eyeglasses or contact lenses by combining vision needs, prescription requirements, face shape, lifestyle, and fashion preferences. The role blends customer service, basic optical knowledge, and sales.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Interaction
- Greet customers and understand their vision needs
- Explain prescriptions in simple terms
- Recommend suitable frames, lenses, and coatings
- Assist with frame fitting and adjustments
Product & Technical Knowledge
- Understand lens types (single vision, bifocal, progressive)
- Explain coatings (anti-glare, blue-light filter, UV protection)
- Stay updated on new eyewear trends and brands
- Handle basic optical measurements (PD, frame size, fitting)
Sales & Store Duties
- Achieve sales targets and upsell premium lenses or frames
- Process orders and billing
- Manage inventory and display merchandise
- Handle after-sales service and minor repairs
Coordination
- Work with optometrists or ophthalmologists
- Follow up on custom orders and delivery timelines
Skills RequiredTechnical Skills
