Job Description
Position: Junior Site Engineer (Civil)
Reports To: Senior Site Engineer / Project Manager
Location: Project Site, Bengaluru
Experience: 2-5 years (fresh civil engineering graduates with site internship exposure also considered)
Role Purpose
To assist in the day-to-day execution, supervision, and quality/safety monitoring of civil works on site, ensuring construction proceeds as per approved drawings, specifications, and timelines under the guidance of the Senior Site Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily site activities (RCC, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, finishing works) and ensure execution matches approved GFC (Good-for-Construction) drawings.
- Take daily site measurements, maintain level/alignment checks, and coordinate with the survey team.
- Maintain daily progress reports (DPR), labour attendance, and material consumption records.
- Coordinate with contractors, sub-contractors, and labour supervisors to ensure work quality and pace.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols (PPE compliance, scaffolding checks, fall protection) on site.
- Assist in quality checks — cube testing, slump tests, rebar checks, cover block placement — and maintain QA/QC checklists.
- Raise material indents and coordinate with the store/procurement team for timely availability.
- Support billing/quantity engineers with measurement book (MB) entries and running account bill verification.
- Escalate site issues (drawing discrepancies, quality non-conformance, safety violations) to the Senior Site Engineer/PM promptly.
- Participate in daily/weekly site progress meetings and maintain photographic documentation of key stages.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (or Diploma with relevant site experience).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD for drawing reference (not necessarily drafting).
- Basic understanding of IS codes relevant to RCC, masonry, and finishing works.
- Familiarity with MS Excel/Word for daily reporting; exposure to MS Project/Primavera is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with site labour, contractors, and consultants.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
