Key ResponsibilitiesDialysis Unit Operations
- Coordinate and supervise daily dialysis treatment schedules.
- Ensure timely preparation of dialysis stations and equipment.
- Monitor workflow and patient assignments within the dialysis unit.
- Assist in managing emergency situations during dialysis procedures.
Technical Supervision
- Supervise and guide dialysis technicians in performing dialysis procedures.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and clinical protocols.
- Verify proper machine setup, priming, disinfection, and shutdown procedures.
- Conduct competency assessments and provide on-the-job training to staff.
Equipment Management
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of dialysis machines.
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs.
- Check functionality of water treatment systems and RO plant.
- Maintain records of machine servicing, calibration, and breakdowns.
Infection Control and Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control guidelines.
- Monitor cleaning and disinfection of dialysis machines and treatment areas.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal.
- Participate in quality improvement programs and audits.
Patient Care Support
- Prepare patients for dialysis treatment as per protocol.
- Monitor patients during dialysis and promptly report abnormalities to nursing staff and nephrologists.
- Assist in managing dialysis-related complications and emergencies.
- Provide patient education regarding vascular access care and treatment compliance.
Inventory and Documentation
- Monitor stock levels of consumables, dialyzers, bloodlines, concentrates, and other supplies.
- Maintain inventory records and coordinate procurement requests.
- Ensure accurate documentation of dialysis treatments, machine logs, and maintenance records.
- Prepare departmental reports as required.
Team Leadership
- Prepare technician duty rosters and work assignments.
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage for all shifts.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and professional conduct.
- Participate in staff meetings and training programs.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Dialysis Technology or Renal Dialysis Technology.
- Certification in Dialysis Technology (as applicable).
- Minimum 7–10 years of dialysis technician experience.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
