Role description
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with 6–8 years of experience in test automation and quality engineering. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Katalon Studio, a solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, and a deep understanding of functional testing principles. The candidate should embrace a Shift-Left Testing approach by actively participating in requirement analysis, identifying test scenarios early in the SDLC, and converting them into robust automated test suites.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in requirement reviews, backlog grooming, and sprint planning sessions.
- Apply Shift-Left Testing practices by identifying test scenarios and test cases during the early stages of development.
- Analyze business requirements and create comprehensive test coverage strategies.
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Katalon Studio.
- Build scalable and reusable automation frameworks and utilities.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Review user stories and acceptance criteria to identify testability and quality risks.
- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze test results, investigate failures, and work with development teams to resolve defects.
- Track quality metrics and provide regular status updates.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to automation best practices.
Required Skills
- 6–8 years of experience in software testing and test automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Katalon Studio.
- Experience creating and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Expertise in UI, API, and end-to-end test automation.
- Strong understanding of test design techniques and automation best practices.
