Position: Senior Construction Safety Specialist
Location: Kerala
Salary: INR 18,00,000 per annum
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Safety Specialist to oversee and enforce health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards across major road and bridge construction works. The role demands strong technical expertise, practical knowledge of site safety, and the ability to impart training to ensure zero harm and compliance with national and international safety standards.
Develop, implement, and monitor safety management systems for road and bridge construction projects.
Ensure compliance with OSHAS standards, contractual requirements, and statutory safety regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and prepare site-specific safety plans for high-risk construction activities such as work at height, deep foundations, and live traffic situations.
Carry out regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and recommend preventive actions.
Deliver safety induction programs and training workshops for engineers, construction managers, supervisors, and workers.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and client representatives to ensure safety culture and best practices are integrated into all construction activities.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive safety reports, dashboards, and documentation for management and stakeholders.
Graduate in Civil Engineering.
Preferably, Postgraduate qualification in Industrial and Construction Safety.
Mandatory Certification: OSHAS (Occupational Safety and Health Assessment Series).
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in construction safety.
At least 5 years of experience as a Safety Engineer in road/bridge construction projects.
Proven experience in working at height, deep foundations, and live traffic management.
Strong background in safety training and capacity building for site teams.
In-depth knowledge of construction safety standards, codes, and practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in identifying and mitigating risks.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities to promote a safety-first culture.
Effective communication and training skills to engage diverse site teams.
Ability to generate detailed reports and maintain documentation for compliance and audits.
