Job Summary
The Computer Teacher is responsible for providing quality computer education to students by teaching fundamental and advanced computer concepts, promoting digital literacy, and integrating technology into the learning process. The teacher should create an engaging classroom environment that encourages students to develop practical computer skills and responsible digital citizenship.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver computer lessons according to the school's curriculum.
- Teach basic computer operations, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet usage, and digital literacy.
- Introduce students to programming, coding, and other computer applications as per grade level.
- Conduct practical sessions in the computer laboratory.
- Maintain discipline and ensure safe use of computer equipment.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
- Evaluate students' performance through practical and written examinations.
- Maintain student attendance, progress records, and assessment reports.
- Ensure proper maintenance and care of computer lab equipment.
- Report technical issues related to computers, software, and networking to the concerned authority.
- Encourage students to use technology ethically and safely.
- Assist in school events, examinations, and other academic activities as assigned by the management.
- Support teachers in the use of educational technology whenever required.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in computer education and educational technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, BCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science), or equivalent.
- B.Ed. preferred (for school teaching positions).
- Relevant teaching experience is desirable.
Required Skills
- Excellent knowledge of computer fundamentals and applications.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Internet, and educational software.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages (Scratch, Python, HTML, etc.) is an advantage.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities.
Working Hours
As per the school's rules and timetable.
Other Duties
Perform any additional academic or administrative responsibilities assigned by the Principal or School Management from time to time.
